A spiral of evergreen leaves will be built in the Nave, kindly collected by parents from local participating parks. Children walk the spiral, light their candle from the central candle then place their light in the spiral as they walk out of it.  The spiral image can be found in all cultures and is one of nature's many patterns.  This festival honours the return of the light into the world, and we use the spiral to represent the seasonal rhythms as well as representing the contemplative journey we take to find our own inner light.
