Lunar New Year

Full CalendarUpcoming Events

This event will take place between 8:15am and 3:30pm on 25/01/2023

Our Lunar New Year celebration is the start of our various Spring festivals at St Paul's which will move into Candlemas 2nd February. The Lunar New Year will be celebrated with decorations at the entrance, and traditional treats which will be shared out for snacks.

The Lunar New year marks the start of the Lunar calendar (with the 12 zodiac animals). We are moving into the year of the Rabbit and the children will experience the Festival with stories, painting, craft, and Middle school will learn some Mandarin.

This is part of the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development of our pupils. We aim to foster appreciation for self, others and the environment. Lunar New Year is celebrated by 2 of 8 billion people on Earth.  It is of course one of the fundamental British values to promote mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
