The Adult & Child Group aims to support the parents or carers of pre-school children 0 - 3. We work within a rhythm that is similar to a morning in the Kindergarten with periods of activity and play balanced with quieter times for rest, stories and songs. We have the conviction that children this young are usually fine as long as their often tired and sometimes lonely or isolated carers are fine and we find the groups are a place where carers can find a little time for themselves and the support of meeting other local carers who are on the same new and challenging path. The Adult and Child Group has three sessions per week during term time. Please contact the school office if you would like to book a space on the Wednesday and Friday morning sessions. The Thursday afternoon session is a drop-in. Cost is £6.50/ £5 concessions.
From Autumn 2008, Parent and Toddler Groups will be held every day Monday to Friday.
Wednesdays and Fridays 9.30 am - 12.00 noon
Thursdays 1 pm - 3.30 pm

Playgroup is the first opportunity for a parent to leave their child for a few hours and runs three mornings a week from 9.30 am to 12.00 noon. With baking, painting, craft activities and the usual domestic activities of the home. The Playgroup leader and her assistants endeavour to create a purposeful, calm, safe environment where the child can be allowed securely to "be"; dreamily play & experience the calmness and protection of the regular daily routines of the morning. Parents are encouraged to settle their children in gradually and, if wished, stay for a while and join in the spirit of the Waldorf objectives. There are frequent talks and community activities, especially with a strong connection to the seasonal cycles and community celebrations of the yearly festivals. Admission to the Playgroup is via the school's enrolment procedure.
